Appointmentsflu_shot

If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency you must dial 999 to get help.   If we are closed and you need medial advice please dial 111.

All consultations are by appointment, but if you need an urgent appointment or advice, you will be telephoned by a health care professional and dealt with appropriately.  Appointments can be booked up to six weeks in advance.

All patients registered here have a named, accountable GP who is responsible for patients’ overall care at the practice. If you would like to know who your named GP is please ask us and if you have a preference as to which GP that is we will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request. The current list holders are Dr Dilley, Dr Kerr, Dr Gurney, Dr de Sousa, Dr Stuart and Dr Nelson. Patients are asked to see the same GP for the duration of an episode of care so that continuity of care is maintained.  This GP does not have to be your registered GP.

Patients aged 75 and over have a named GP who will work with other agencies to deliver a multi disciplinary care package that meets the needs of the patient. In addition the named GP will ensure these patients have access to a health check up if one is requested.

For all surgeries you can make an appointment online (if you have registered to do so),  at the reception desk or by telephoning between 08:30 to 13:30 and 14:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday.  The surgery is usually closed at weekends and Bank Holidays.

Running to Time

We do our best to run to time.  If you want to discuss several problems with your doctor, please book a double appointment so that you don't keep other patients waiting.

Branch Surgeries

Held at Sandfords Surgery, Station Road, Whimple and The Surgery, Roberts Way, Newton Poppleford.  Appointments to consult either a doctor or a practice nurse at Whimple or a doctor at Newton Poppleford can be made by telephoning the main surgery.

All practice premises have suitable access for disabled patients.

Please click GP Timetable for our GP timetable.

On the Day Appointment Requests

Patients who think they need to be seen on the same day will be triaged by our on the day/acute care team of GP and nurse practitioners.  A clinician will assess you over the telephone and agree a plan with you. eg a face to face appointment, a prescription  or advice for self management and over the counter medication.   It is helpful if you can let the receptionist know what the problem is so that we can help you appropriately.

Please note that our receptionists are not permitted to interrupt consultations.

Cancellations

If you cannot attend an appointment for any reason please inform us as soon as possible in order for us to give the slot to someone else.
